Boilerplate: About the Council
About the PrepGraph Council for Responsible AI & School Innovation – India. The Council is a national forum advancing responsible, research-led AI innovation in Indian schools. It was established by PrepGraph in August 2026 and works under six pillars: Responsible AI in Schools, Teacher AI Enablement, Student AI Readiness, Academic Innovation, School Leadership & Governance, and Research & Evidence. Founding Members sit alongside the Founding Chair in seats held for stated constituencies: school leadership; teacher development and pedagogy; responsible AI and technology; child development and age-appropriate use; equity and inclusion; school innovation; education policy and systems; and an independent seat at large. Membership and the office of Chair are honorary and unpaid. Membership of the Council does not constitute endorsement of PrepGraph or any technology vendor. Members participate in their individual professional capacity to advance responsible, ethical and evidence-informed use of AI and innovation in school education. Its founding instruments, issued by the Founding Chair, are published in full at council.prepgraph.com and are open for comment. PrepGraph is the founding organisation, research and knowledge partner, and secretariat; it funds, staffs and administers the Council and is its only funder. If that ever ceases to be the case, the change is published before the next Council output. The Council carries its convener's name. The Secretariat is provided and paid for by PrepGraph and its three offices are named: Umesh Sharma, Founder & Executive Convener (Founder & CEO, PrepGraph); Rekha Sharma, Executive Director & Secretary-General (Chief Operating Officer, PrepGraph); and Anisha Sarkar, Director, Education Partnerships & National Outreach (education partnerships, PrepGraph); none of whom holds a vote on any question or counts towards quorum. The Council determines the recommendations and principles. The PrepGraph-supported Secretariat enables research, coordination, publication and implementation. The Secretariat holds no vote. The Council is a voluntary, non-statutory initiative. It is not a government, regulatory or accrediting body, and it does not certify, rate or approve schools, curricula or products. The Council does not endorse individual procurement decisions or technology vendors. Its role is to advance responsible AI readiness, educator capability and evidence-based innovation in schools. council.prepgraph.com · council@prepgraph.com
